Bedmo III (Bedminster Parade, East Street, Bristol)

I am fortunate to be able to spend more time on this project I have been getting to know people by name and learning their interesting life stories. 

Bedminster Parade is my local high street unfortunately its residents are often overlooked and misrepresented. I hope that my project will be able to go beyond the surface and show the friendly and colourful side of this unique community.

Nuffield Hospital Bursary Exhibition

Images from my latest bursary with Nuffield Hospital will be on show from Thursday in Bower Ashton F block Gallery. Bursary holders will talk from 4.30 and there will be refreshments afterwards. If you like to come it would be nice to see you.

The Rise of the Dead, Bristol Zombie Walk 2012

After a long wait, finally pictures from last year are here.

Bristol Zombie Walk is one of the greatest events in Bristol. Despite its subject, it is one of the happiest gatherings in town. Zombies often start to get ready months before the event, to look as bloody and as deadly as possible. Last year saw the biggest march with nearly a thousand zombies crawling through the city center, on the last Saturday of October.

Warning: There are disturbing images in this series, please be aware of the appearance of blood and dead things.

10 to 10 Community Photo Shoot Day

If you are in Bristol come along for our next IC-Visaul lab event next Thursday in the city center.

10 to 10 will include a Community Photo-shoot where everybody can come along and take a photograph of the area and upload it to the live archive, a mobile portrait studio by professional photographer Kirsty Mackay and a service to digitise old photographs and family albums that relate to the Old Market area by Alejandro Acin.

All activities are free.

Temple Feeds

Now that the Temple Feeds exhibition is been closed down you can view the photographs I took for the Second Chances graduate bursary here.

My work is depicting the working life of Severn Project an urban gardening project supporting socially excluded individuals working on reclaimed disused land to grow organic vegetables. The photographs were taken during February 2013, perhaps the most miserable winter of the last few decades. I photographed two sites the Keynsham and the Bristol Meads sites. With my photographs I was aiming to show the strength of people and the pride they find in their work.

Second Chances is part of Bristol Temple Quarter commissions, coordinated by Watershed, Knowle West Media Centre and MAYK, with support from Bristol City Council and Arts Council England.
